Zeliwin died because of unrelated game issues, I am running Ubuntu Linux and it has a bug with random spontaneous freezing up and only fix is a hard boot. So while I was at -1550 Angband it decided to freeze up =). Peachy, I am in the process of reinstalling the OS but I feel Zeliwin's death was injustice, Would it be possible to have some sort of fix where I can atleast get my levels back?

We don't currently restore characters after lag deaths and this case is similar enough to that. So I'm sorry, but it's not going to happen.
OS crashes are also hard to prove. In the log it's no different from closing the client. I'm not saying your story isn't true but there isn't any solid evidence either.
