I see some balance problem in end-game atm...

To be able to kill Sauron in MtDoom, you certainly need a use Glyph of Warding (GoW) there to put at least some walls around. And without killing Sauron in MtDoom you can't kill Morgoth.. It was much easier to kill Sauron in Angband and now its MUCH more harsh situation with obligatory visit of MtDoom. Important thing in TomeNET balance - is to give every class equal possibilities to win. But to come closer to winning its almost obligatory to use GoW.. How you could get GoW right now:

runes of protections scrolls (from black market/drop)
OR
Magelock (Temporal school - istars...)
OR
Glyph of Warding (holy defence magic school - priests & paladins...)

As most of classes can't use spells for summoning GoW, there is big problem with GoW scrolls. No, not like this BIG problem with GoW scrolls.

Atm the only way to get GoW scrolls is Black Market. You could buy/steal them. The problem there - they are very rare. No, not like this. They are VERY rare. Funny thing that they have only 2k base value.. But you can't order them so the only way to get scrolls - hunt BM for them for eternity...

I steal items from BM for some months already. GoW scrolls are my primal target there. For WHOLE this months I stole 25 GoW scrolls:



And of course there are none GoWs in p-stores.

So there is a problem in end-game balance. Some classes could create unlimited GoWs, some limited to super rare scrolls...

Possible suggestions:

1) To add GoW to wands and staffs. Adding such items would solve the problem

2) Make it possible to order GoW scrolls in 5 store. Lets it would be like with *RC* scroll - wait a lot and very expensive (up basevalue from 2k to 10k?), but at least we wouldn't be limited in supplies

3) Also lets take a look at NetHack. One of main lifesaver there - word "Elbereth" which you could write on the floor with any item.. even with your finger. This word is an analogue of GoW..

I don't think that its fair to be able to create so powerful magic just with a finger.. But may be add possibility to create GoW with some items? Add 'A' to some artifacts?

Glyphs are only useful for ranged characters (archers, casters). For melee characters, you won't kill Sauron with glyphs, but with really high damage output.

as long as he finds himself or the area around his target blocked by Glyphs of
Warding (also called Runes of Protection).

Do you want to boost his casting speed?

May be you are right, guys. I didn't saw p and P yet Anyway its interesting to have this discussion and get some information. Thanks!

Do you want to boost his casting speed?

How much "boost" is that? I mean, will he spam manastorms at 3x the character's speed or simply add a few spells here and there?

I think it's boost by ~34% not sure because i didn't read whole code

Ah ok, so glyphs are still a valid option there.
