Interesting article "How to Make a Roguelike":
https://www.gridsagegames.com/blog/2018 ... roguelike/
p.s.
IMHO it's better not to create new game, but to help in development of existing ones, such as TomeNET (yay!)
At the same time, to start with helping to TomeNET developers, it could be useful to understand how such games work in general, so creating your own tiny game could be good training before starting to work in serious project

Sorry, but I thought topic name is "Useful tools for roguelike development", not a "Useful tools for TomeNet development".
Maybe we need separete topics for disscusions about roguelike development in general and TomeNet specific development?
As I see we already have discusson about TomeNet development
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1821
So, maybe, we can have this topic free of specific restrictions such as programming language or platform, or etc. ?
Btw, sorry for my english =P

Sure, no restrictions there
It was just a funny comment (thats why I had this smile"
