You know it would take one line to change in wilderness.c to make all town surroundings grass instead of random. The only problem is that... as you said the change is only effective once you reset the server. Very useful for local servers: edit wilderness.c, recompile, run your server and tada... yo...

Sounds like this exists sice forever... the yellow message stating that another player in LOS has killed a monster doesn't start with a capital letter.

Summoning near the caster has been added ages ago in vanilla Angband... but not really to help the player. Remember that the points you spend in Air magic or trauma at low level are points that will not be spent in useful schools later on... so you really need to plan your character ahead. I think many players keep low level mage staves in houses... you should ask someone to sell you one.

Stairs in vaults are ok. Stairs in no tele vauts with monsters pushing you from them are total nonsense.

I don't know if it has been fixed or not, but vaults used to be placed regardless of the level layout, leading to ridiculous stuff such as monsters/objects/traps placed on permanent walls or unreachable areas. This looks like the same problem here, but the other way round: the vault is placed first,...

The best would be to implement the "meta-wilderness" that is existing in single player ToME. Travelling would become much less tedious. I imagine the wilderness layout didn't change in all these years and Gondolin is still close to Bree on the official server. In some servers it's VERY far...

There's a bug in the vanilla Angband code that prevents the crown from being generated if there's no room available. As any artifact, it cannot be picked up or destroyed, so the only way to not get it is because it couldn't get generated.
